Handling GRSF annotations
Added by Aureliano Gentile about 7 years ago.
Updated over 3 years ago.
Description
Let me highlight that all annotations are reported in the grsf record page (see also attached screenshot related to http://data.d4science.org/ctlg/GRSF_Admin/49e836b0-72fe-382b-b384-bd5132845418 ), but there is no way to edit/remove them through the "manage item" panel. I thought that by re-editing the record again I would have found my annotation(s) with the possibility to edit/remove. Anyway, if you think that is too complex and as it is now it has not side effects, then feel free to ignore.
My point was also considering that if such annotations will go into production they have to be meaningful and useful to users (hence these ones should be edited/deleted).

This is not a bug but the request for a new feature.
At present, it is not possible to edit an annotation since each annotation has not a unique identifier and therefore we cannot request the update of the modified annotation to the KB.
So, I suggest discussing this feature with either @marketak@ics.forth.gr or @minadakn@ics.forth.gr first. Then, if feasible we will support it in the management panel
@pasquale.pagano@isti.cnr.it you are perfectly right.
We store annotation in the GRSF KB as a node consisting of: (a) the user that made the annotation, (b) a timestamp and (c) the narrative text for the annotation. This node does not have a unique ID, so its impossible to find it and edit it.
As Lino said, to do so we have to assign a UUID to that node and associate it with the corresponding record. Of course the UUID of the annotation node should be added in the catalogue as well (and so to use it when we want to update a message).
Considering the other urgent tickets I would give lower priority to this issue. Having all annotations available and displayed for a specific record can be enough for the time being.
