Actions

Fisheries Atlas
All of the actions below are expected to be implemented in 2023, where possible before the FIRMS Steering Committee meeting (FSC13, June 2023)
• Organize a technical working session (around March-April) with IRD (possibly held in IRD, Sète, France) as task force for the FIRMS Global Tuna Atlas yearly update and technical working group, in close relation with the work on CWP Reference Harmonization and the elaboration of implementation guidelines.
• FAO to further elaborate with IRD a workshop / training plan (to be funded under Blue-Cloud 2026 Work package 6) involving the tRFMO data managers (and others RFBs with RDBs) as trainees on FAIR in context of submitting data for a Global Tuna atlas data call framework.
• FAO to provide minimal technical support to IRD and CNR regarding the set-up of the Blue-Cloud 2026 Fisheries Atlas VLab, including:
o Support to the use of R clients built by FAO for D4Science components
o Support to inventory and clean Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) components currently available in the D4Science / i-Marine / Blue-Cloud e-infras, with the aim to rationalize the use of these resources
o Support for the set-up of the Fisheries SDI including set-up of the OpenFairViewer mapping application
• FAO to proceed with an evolutive maintenance of the i-Marine SDG 14.4.1 VRE StockMonitoringTool application (implementation of the new D4Science authentication mechanism)

GRSF
All actions below are expected to be implemented in 2023, where possible before the FIRMS Steering Committee meeting (FSC13, June 2023)
• CNR and FORTH to draft a workplan for implementing the Traceability Units in the CKAN catalogue. (#24609). The implementation foresees the use of the CNR GCat services and will take place after the FSC13.
• FAO Major Areas tags for all GRSF stock records (#24606)
• Fix Database Source field (#24604)
• Fix management panel (#24605)
• Evaluate the polygon approach (#24614)
• Assessment Methods to be added under Resources (#24034)
• Two GRSF KB refreshes and publication in CKAN catalogue by the FSC13

iMarine MoU
A draft update to the iMarine MoU workplan needs to be available by by March 23 to facilitate the implementation of new (e.g., RECOFI VRE) or modified (e.g., Geospatial tools, SOFIA-TAF) VREs and the implementation of related LOAs.
A LOA for SOFIA-TAF needs to be developed to formalize CNR-ISTI support and assistance and ensure quality of services for the forthcoming regional workshops led by NFIFM.
A RECOFI VRE built similarly to the WECAFIS VRE needs to be requested by FAO under the iMarine MoU framework. The VRE will generally benefit from the developments implemented in the Fisheries Atlas.
