11 February 2021 - Discussing area issues and approval workflow with FishSource¶
Participants:
FishSource (Susana Seguardo, Merul Patel, Patricia Amorim)
FAO (Bracken van Niekerk, Aureliano Gentile)
Main topics
This meeting is for discussing issues on area, e.g. ticket 19744 (https://support.d4science.org/issues/19744), and approval workflow (management panel).
This meeting discussed the following topics:
- Upcoming GRSF webinar
- Methodology for updating the excel file facilitating the workflow between FORTH and FIRMS
- Status of the Management panel
- Issues regarding area (specifically ticket 19744)
Upcoming GRSF webinar¶
At the upcoming online seminar proposed to happen at the end of March or at the beginning of April 2021, FishSource is to present a section if they wish.
FishSource to provide feedback on interest.
Methodology for updating the excel file facilitating the workflow between FORTH and FIRMS¶
- The latest competency query for stocks and fisheries from the GRSF Admin API is downloaded and the file is consolidated by using the "VLOOKUP" function to retain the previous important information. In the cases of merges, those records with new UUIDs, the important comments are manually retained for the time being and the full automation of this process is currently being explored.
- It was suggested by FishSource that a google doc be created for this file, reducing the possibility of duplicated effort.
Status of the Management panel¶
The management panel is now working. Further testing still needs to take place.
Aureliano to investigate with FORTH and CNR colleagues as to why Patricia cannot perform actions in the management panel.
Issues regarding area¶
- Ticket 19744 was discussed (see https://support.d4science.org/issues/19744), specifically the issue regarding the FAO areas incorrectly being displayed, in the GRSF, in place of the GFCM areas in some FishSource records. FishSource to modify this on their end. A separate call with Merul and Yannis to be arranged.
- Regarding other mismatches in the area codes, FishSource noted that this was due to the fact that the often their records are at a management unit level instead of at an assessment unit level, accounting for the breakdown or concatenation of fishing areas.
Follow up actions¶
- FIRMS to propose that FishSource send them their current outstanding actions for FORTH, FIRMS to concatenate this file with the one currently in progress, the relevant actions be requested to FORTH and a new file be created acting as a google doc that we can all use.
- A separate call with Merul and Yannis to be arranged
- FishSource to provide feedback on interest
