Meeting Notes
Topics: Verify the status of the activities of the GRSF development, ensure the release of the first version of the GRSF accessible through the iMarine Data Catalogue.

Participants:
CNR (Pasquale Pagano, Costantino Perciante, Francesco Mangiacrapa)
FORTH (Yannis Marketakis)
FAO (Anton Ellenbroek, Aureliano Gentile)

Notes

  • Description of the activities so far. FORTH described the current status and discussed some open points. In the slides attached, the summary of the activities can be found.
  • FORTH described that they found a bug in the grsf-services-core API, after publishing the GRSF records. This bug caused all the GRSF stock records to be published with traceability flag set to false - while the corresponding records in the GRSF KB was true. FORTH resolved the issue, but in order to avoid republishing all the GRSF records asked from CNR to perform a bulk update of those records in the data catalogue directly.
  • CNR is implementing a new service method that will return the catalog id and URL for the published records given the GRSF KB UUID of a record. It will be used after publishing for updating records that has been published but the grsf-services-core API was not informed due to read time-out errors.
  • Discussion about the period for publishing approved records in the GRSF public catalogue. FAO proposed to publish them directly upon user request, although it was agreed to do it on a regular basis (i.e. daily). FORTH and CNR mentioned that it is feasible to support it. As regards the publishing in the data catalogue it is suggested to keep the original catalog id (of course the catalogue will be updated). If it is not feasible a new one will be generated. In any case the GRSF KB UUID of the record will remain the same.
  • FAO asked if the catalog URL can be changed to something more meaningful. They proposed to change it from http://data.d4science.org/uri-resolver/catalogue/SUNqOEJJRTA1ZEkxWmVZcE1... to something like http://data.d4science.org/uri-resolver/catalogue/grsf/GRSF_KB_UUID so that it can be easily recognized.

Follow-up actions

  • CNR to perform the bulk update for GRSF stock records to update the traceability flag from false to true
  • FORTH to update grsf-services-updater service to publish directly in the public GRSF catalogue an approved record
  • CNR to investigate if the catalogue URL can be changed
  • FAO to provide exact number of published FIRMS records as of today (604 published marine resource primary observations; 253 published fishery primary observations)
