Notes

  • FAO/FIRMS secretariat updated the Excel file so far utilized to discuss the elements of the database and the underlying standards.
  • During the meeting, answers were provided according to the advanced proposal on the elements of the GRSF database.
  • The main points discussed were: standards for stocks and fisheries names, geographical areas classification systems, state and trends standard indicators.
  • Main outcomes are collected in the column "Answers 31 May 2016 " of http://goo.gl/DizvHa (Excel).

Follow-up actions

  • FAO: to contact FORTH and convey the recommendations collected so far (done on 2 June 2016 - FORTH colleagues were fine with the modifications envisaged so far and the commitments to accomplish the expected product was confirmed)
  • FAO: to launch another call to complete the discussion on elements of the database and start discussing the requirements for unique identifiers
  • Developers: to start formulating unique identifiers' logic based on the requirements formulated so far
  • RAM and FishSource to provide further feedback on possible mapping rules to implement FIRMS state and trend standard descriptors
