Now i realize that possibly i didn't save the project once assigned the VREs, because i don't see any of this information in the XML file. Could it be the reason i can't open it from within the BiodiversityLab VRE?
Hi Emmanuel, the SAI project corresponds to a folder on the Workspace. To see if you saved the project, go to the WS and search for the folder you created for the project, then check if the files are there.
SAI saves the project by itself when you press the create, publish or repackage button.
Files (R script, and stat_algo project file) are there if i look into the workspace from the portal. If i look into the workspace from the SAI (browsing to open the project), they are not appearing.
Please, try selecting the folder but not double clicking it when you open the project; i.e., do not enter in the folder you want to select.
If it does not work, please share the folder with Giancarlo Panichi and me.
Further, do not open take the Workspace and the SAI Web interface opened in two tabs in the browser, because this mixes the VRE scopes.
Have you solved the issue?
Just as a clarification: After you change something you should save your project as in a standard IDE.
If you change the code, you can save the modifications by only pressing the SAVE button on the top of the code window.
The SAVE button for each parameter, instead, fixes the entries you have defined.
Sorry for the delay in responding, i tried to access the project, it works now.
Before closing the issue, can you clarify if there is a binding between the "Save" buttons, in particular: if i click on "save the project", is it that it will save the different "children": R script, I/O parameters, etc?
At each saving step also a consistency check is made. For example, the save button on the parameters does some checks on the presence of data type consistency (e.g. string as default values of a numeric variable etc.), presence of unwanted characters etc. Sometimes errors are not captured at this level but at a "higher" level. For example, non-UTF characters are captured during the compilation phase (create software) if they are inconsistent with Java processes.
Yours is a right question that we will include in the SAI Wiki.

(Thanks Gianpaolo for your support! I'm going to work more with SAI/Dataminer now)
