Description
When configuring the two smartgears nodes for the smartarea applications (see #4051 and #4052) I discovered that smartgears refuses to start if the local IP address isn't listed in /etc/hosts and the hostname isn't resolved by a DNS query.
I had to add the private IP and the hostname to /etc/hosts to make smartgears happy.
Is this the expected behaviour? If so, we'll need to manage /etc/hosts if the system don't do that for us.
