Hello Emmanuel.
The application server was restarted and checked the smartfish portal (http://smartfish.d4science.org/) and all the searches are working, but the link provided in this ticket is still not working.
Can you please check if the uri that you are using is correct?
Since the search in all pages of the portal is working correctly I will close this ticket.
If it is a production service that is failing please reopen it with the link to this production service too.
If this is something that you expected to be working, but it wasn't used in any production services, then please open it as task ticket an better assign it to the chimera developer.
Kind Regards,
Kostas

First thanks Kostas for your prompt reply,
Indeed the other search web-services are working well, but not for the endpoint uri i pasted. I checked the URI and it is correct, extracted from the Chimaera application in production. FYI, this web-service is used in production since the beginning, and its invocation and has never been changed on the client side. I'm then reopening the ticket
Thanks in advance for your support,
Kind regards,
Emmanuel

Thank you very much for the feedback Emmanuel.
I cannot find any problem in the infrastructure so I will check it with the developers.
Can you provide us the link to the service that is using that uri, too? Would be nice to have it for checking it now if it is fixed till the end and for checking the specific service too in the future (after services restarts, infrastructure downtimes, etc)
Kind Regards,
Kostas

There is no specific web-page as the web-service is targeting a resource retrieved by a search operation.
Here are the indications how to test this web-service through the Chimaera application:
- In chimaera.d4science.org, go to tab "State of marine resources"
- There perform a search (using a dropdownlist or free text search)
- Once the search results are displayed, expand a result. The web-service in question is invoked when expanding a search result (taking as parameter the search resource in question). You will see a loader gif with the indication "Search geographic information".
See attached screenshot
Hope this helps
Best,

- Assignee changed from Kostas Kakaletris to Emmanuel Blondel
Hi all, i have checked the code up to the point it fails with that exception.
I see that it tries to submit a sparql query at a running search service of FAO which doesn't respond anymore.
That is
"http://www.fao.org/figis/flod/endpoint/flod"
So, consequently, the smartfish-ds service fails as well (and forwards the 500 response).
Since this a service of FAO I will assign it to you Emmanuel for checking/forwarding the ticket appropriately.
Then, we can check again the chimera service whether it's working or not.
If it's fixed, we can close the ticket, otherwise, please reassign it to Kostas for further checking of the smartfish app.

Thanks Nikolas, I will check with my colleagues why FLOD is down and will report here.

Hi Nikolas, finally the issue has been resolved in FLOD. We will let you know in case the FLOD endpoint changes in the near future for update in Chimaera web-service. Thanks again for pointing us the problem in FLOD and for your prompt support.
