A new suitable R environment is needed on the following VM:
statistical-manager-pre.d4science.org
The statistical-manager service is running on port 8080 under the gcube2 user

Define suitable. Does it mean that it needs to be the same of the dev/production statistical manager nodes?

It failed because an old version of R, with locally compiled additional packages was installed.
I'm running the playbook again, cleaning things up before.
How was that machine installed?

Indeed, this cannot be tested because the pre-prod StatMan conflicts with the development StatMan.
